Snowbirds Arrive Earlier Than Ever

ABM was in town last Saturday to pick up our freshly painted rear fender, figuring to beat
the bike week crowd. I-95 was already packed with tow vehicles hauling bikes, bbq grills,
lawn chairs, and who knows what else, headed south likity-split down the super slab.
NY, PA, CONN, MA, OH, KY, RI, and of course, CANADA ruled the road. When we arrived at Destination Daytona, the huge parking lot was packed with Bike Week arrivals sucking up
tees, parts, and bikes. Easy to recognize 'cause they're attired in cutoffs, while we're still wearing jeans & leather. Their look is tired, but happy. DD's crew looked rushed to struggle as
around the horde to get tents and barriers set in place. (They shoulda started last week).
A peek into the 2nd floor DD "glass house" repair bay showed four times the normal
amount of MC techs working on bikes. Without a doubt, Volusia county will be packed by
rabid fun seekers by the end of this week. Our ten day outlook is dry, temps in the normal
75 degree range. Since the ocean's been much warmer than usual this season, beachside
will be ideal for screwing around and goofing off, sans leathers. When you're staring out of the kitchen window, between hanging roof ice, a week in Daytona looks like a no brainer. Combined with the chance to run up a thousand miles on roads lined with palm, citrus, and beach bunnies?
Priceless.

ABM reports live from Daytona, beginning this weekend, for the start of the 66th Bike Week!
Check back often, as we give it to you straight from the world's most famous beach!
