Ride Your MC Around Daytona Int'l Speedway:

$40 Bucks!

Gets you two trips around the 2.5 mile tri oval race track. You'll be riding around the bottom edge, right off the stripe. As you reach the far ends of this beast, the degree of banking will freak you out. It looks as steep as a widowmaker hill climb. Twice around the track, all for just forty bux? There must be a catch, and there is.

What's the Catch?

Bikers we interviewed were a little miffed because they had to play "follow the leader" around the track, which is okay, unless yours decides to putt along. This is one place where nobody "putts" unless they're leaking oil. Complaint number two? Having to follow the person in front of you, in line, nice and neat. No wandering around. Still, you go twice around for just forty bux, an ABM best buy.

Belgain Couple Speaks:

Europe is a nice place to visit, but most of us wouldn't want to live there. Ditto them on us. They kinda freak on the way America wastes space with stupid projects like building a brand new strip mall right next to one that's unoccupied. Re: Health Care? Everyone pays a straight 35% income tax, no exceptions. Health care premiums cost about $300 every four months. In return, they have no additional healthcare expense, even if they have to be life flighted from the scene of an accident. The couple earns about $3500 a month. Look for more foreign visitors in Daytona, Sturgis, etc, if the value of our dollar continues to plummet against foreign currencies. By the way, they were happy to be here, no regrets on the big trip, and having a blast!

Forecasters Finally Got It Right:

Around 8 last night, we got pounded for about a half hour. No wind, no electrics, just heavy rain. Lights went out again, which has happened to your intrepid reporter three times in the last two days while blogging. Electricity is about as reliable here as in Iraq, but who cares? I'm living in a tent! This morning, it's already begining to get cold, and dry, (at least for Floridians), the yankees probably think it's a beach day!
